Ralph Bunche Cooperative

Ralph Bunche Cooperative is comprised of a 281 Member Unit Cooperative Community. This Cooperative operates as a “Collective” to allow both families and individuals to have opportunities to reside within “Affordable Housing Units”. The residences range in size from one bedroom to four bedrooms. We have a Multi-Generational Community located in the heart of the major residential section of Downtown Detroit. We have a 50 + year history of continued solid harmonious existences among our residents. Our main focus is to ensure that the harmonious community living continues for generations to come in this vibrant area of downtown Detroit.

Just minutes away from Little Cesar’s Arena, The DMC, Eastern Market, Belle Isle, and the Detroit Recreation Center in a car as well as walking distance to Ford Field, Greek Town, the Dequindre Cut, the River Walk, and Campus Martius Park. There’s always something excited for residents to partake in.

The schools in our neighborhood are excellent for all ages. There’s a variety of schools including Chrysler Elementary, Bunche Preparatory Academy, and University Prep Academy for primary school. Ralph Bunche is just 1 block away from Martin Luther King Jr., Senior High School and less than a 10-minute drive from Cass Technical High School.

There’s a greenway, Bristol Park, that runs in the middle of the cooperative with a newly revitalized basketball court. An exercise park is coming soon. Once on the greenway if you go one way it will lead you to the Aretha Amphitheater. If you go the other way, you will end up at Eastern Market. The Detroit fireworks display can be seen from the property. On warm summer nights you can sit on your patio and hear the tunes of artist playing at the Aretha Amphitheatre.

We are near all major expressways including the Lodge Expressway, I-94, I-375, I-96 and I-75 making your morning and evening commute a breeze. There’s a Meijer and Dollar General within walking distance as well as Lafayette Market to purchase groceries. You will find excellent restaurants in walking distance of all cultures to cultivate your pallet.

Amenities include water and gas being a part of carrying charges, private entries for townhomes, secure locked entry for apartments, laundry rooms in apartment buildings, nice neighbors, a community room for resident usage, around the clock maintenance, and evening security.
